In anticipation of Mother's Day, my personal essay about life as a mom of boys is running in Washington Parent Magazine's May issue. Check it out: "Metamorphosis By Mud: A Lesson In Mothering Sons" We were on a tight deadline for this photo shoot and had to do it on a cold, rainy April Sunday. Because we were shooting for the May issue, we had to appear to be in spring-like weather, and I wouldn't let Max and Zack wear jackets. I felt like a horrible mom for those ten minutes as they froze for the perfect shot!
