HOME & GARDEN CHANNEL SHOW SPARKS A 6-YEAR-OLD'S CURIOUSITY IN SURPRISING WAYS
Talk about evasive answers to tough questions...
My six-year-old son and I were watching "Buy Me" on HGTV last night, as we do every night (it's his favorite show, along with "Designed to Sell"). Only the sellers of this house were two men instead of the usual married couple - and they had a 1-year old baby. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But, it threw Max for a loop. He was shocked and perplexed. His questions began:
How could two guys have a baby? (They got it from a lady who had it). How can lady not keep her baby? (She had her reasons and did it for the baby's sake). How can a single mom have a baby? Why wouldn't she be married? (She was probably married before and they got divorced.) Why? Yikes.
I guess there's no such thing as a "safe" tv show, even on the home and garden channel.

Cute about Max and HGTV...has he spotted me on that channel yet? ha ha
